Your First Visit: What to Expect at Rose Petal

First appointments carry a specific kind of uncertainty — new space, new people, not quite knowing what to expect. This is the guide that removes all of that.

Getting Here

Rose Petal is on Jalan Labuansait in Pecatu, on the Bukit Peninsula in southern Bali. Uluwatu is not the most central part of the island — it sits about 30 to 45 minutes from Seminyak and Kuta by motorbike, and 45 to 60 minutes from Canggu depending on traffic. From Ubud, allow 90 minutes.

If you are staying in the Uluwatu area, we are a short ride from Bingin, Padang Padang, and Balangan. The road along Jalan Labuansait runs past several well-known cliff-edge restaurants and stays, so most drivers will know the area.

We have parking available. If you are arriving by motorbike, there is space at the front. For car arrivals, street parking on Jalan Labuansait is manageable outside of peak sunset hours, when traffic on the clifftop strip can slow considerably.

How to Book

There are three ways to book an appointment.

Online through Fresha is the most convenient. You can see real-time availability, choose your service, and secure your slot without needing to message anyone. The link is at rosepetalbali.com or you can search Rose Petal Bali directly on the Fresha platform.

WhatsApp works well for longer consultations or anything that requires more than a standard booking. If you want to discuss your hair history before committing to a colour appointment, or if you are planning a group visit, message us at +62 811-3960-3010. We can look at your current colour, your goals, and recommend the right service before you come in.

Walk-in is available for shorter services — brow shaping, blow-dries, manicures, some facial treatments. For time-intensive appointments like balayage, lash extensions, or body contouring, walk-in is not always possible as these require reserved slots. If you are planning something specific, booking even a day in advance is worth it.

Your Consultation

Every appointment at Rose Petal begins with a consultation. Not a brief formality — an actual conversation about what you want, what your hair or skin history is, and what the right approach looks like.

For hair appointments, this means examining your hair's current condition: its texture, density, any previous chemical treatments, and how it tends to behave. For colour specifically, we want to understand your lifestyle — how often you wash your hair, whether you spend significant time in the sun or sea, how much maintenance you are willing to do between visits. The result we recommend will be based on all of that.

For skin treatments, the consultation establishes your skin type, current concerns, any products you are using, and whether there are any contraindications to be aware of.

If something is not the right fit — if your hair is not in the condition for the colour you want, or if the treatment you have asked for is not suitable for your skin — we will say so. That is not something that happens in every salon. It matters here.

During Your Treatment

The pace at Rose Petal is not rushed. This is not a high-volume salon cycling clients through as quickly as possible. Treatments take the time they are supposed to take.

For longer appointments — colour work, lash extensions, body contouring — you will move through stages: consultation and preparation, the treatment itself, any processing or setting time, and finishing. Each stage has a rhythm. Your specialist will explain what is happening and why, particularly if you are having a complex colour service or trying a treatment for the first time.

The environment is calm. The music is not too loud. The lighting in the treatment areas is considered. There is nothing you need to rush toward.

For hair colouring appointments that involve processing time, you are welcome to step into the lounge or onto the terrace while the colour develops. You do not need to sit in the chair for four hours. That time belongs to you.

The Lounge and Terrace

The lounge serves specialty coffee and cocktails throughout the day. If you are waiting between services, settling in before an appointment, or simply want a place to be — the lounge is open.

The terrace sits facing the Uluwatu landscape. On clear afternoons it catches the light well. Sunset from that vantage point is the kind of thing that makes a long colour appointment feel less like a commitment and more like an afternoon well spent.

There is also a co-working space available. Stable Wi-Fi, comfortable seating, and enough quiet to actually get work done. If you have a laptop and a treatment that involves processing time, there is no reason to sit idle.

The lounge and terrace are open to everyone — you do not need a beauty appointment to come in for coffee or to use the co-working space.

Payment

We accept both cash and card. Prices on the menu are in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). If you are arriving from elsewhere in Bali, there are ATMs nearby in Pecatu and along the main Uluwatu strip.

There are no hidden charges. The price you see for your service is what you pay. Tips are appreciated but never expected or added automatically.

What to Bring

Nothing.

We provide every product and tool needed for your treatment. Robes, towels, and protective covering are all here.

The one exception worth noting: if you are coming for hair colouring, do not wash your hair for at least three days beforehand. The natural oils that accumulate on your scalp and strands protect your hair during the lightening or colouring process. You are not expected to arrive with pristine hair — quite the opposite.

If you have notes, reference images, or a specific inspiration for your service, bring those. Screenshots on your phone are fine. The more clearly we can understand what you are looking for, the more precisely we can plan the approach.

If you want to understand more about why we built this place or how to evaluate quality when booking anywhere in Bali, both are worth reading. And if you are still deciding which treatments to book, the Bali Beauty Guide covers the full range.
